POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOTOX/DYSPORT
4 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT REFRAIN FROM THE FOLLOWING:
Do not touch, rub, or massage treated areas (No facials, massage, eyebrow grooming)
No exercise, heavy lifting, lying down
No makeup
No tight-fitting hats including bike helmets
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT:
Small bumps, redness, and marks will usually resolve within an hour
Some patients experience a headache for the first few days while the muscles relax (This can be treated with Tylenol as needed)
If you develop a bruise it will resolve like any other bruise (Blood thinners, anti-inflammatories, asa, ibuprofen, certain vitamins, and alcohol increase your risk of bruising)
You may have mild tenderness for a few days at the sight of the injection
Treatment takes 14 days to take full effect although it will usually start working in 3-5 days.
Wait 12-14 days before touchups. Certain muscle groups can react quicker than others. If this is your first treatment we recommend booking a 2-week follow-up at the time of your treatment.
Botox is a temporary treatment lasting on average 3-4 months. Sometimes a few wrinkles may start to return after 2 months. Areas that may wear off quicker include the upper forehead and lip lines. Botox only works on lines and wrinkles that are caused by muscle contraction
Deep, etched-in lines may require 3 or more consecutive treatments (every 3 months) to improve and/or may require the addition of fillers or re-surfacing lasers
